Ellen Derrick Introduces Top Flight Stables in Chester Springs, PA
Hunter/Jumper trainer Ellen Derrick (formerly McGregor) is very pleased to announce her stable is relocating to a new, fully-equipped equestrian facility, Hetherbridge Farm, in Chester Springs, PA. Located at 1072 St. Matthews Road, Top Flight Stables at Hetherbridge Farm, is accepting new clients and boarders starting in January, 2017. Previously, Derrick operated McGregor Stables at Crebilly Farm in West Chester for 10 years. Top Flight Stables, a hunter/jumper training and boarding facility offers individualized programs designed to maximize each horse and rider’s goals and potential. Most of Derrick’s clients compete in a full, year-round schedule of rated and local horse shows, while others choose to focus their training efforts at the farm. Derrick specializes in helping each horse and rider team to grow and learn together, through consistent quality instruction and training. At their new location, Top Flight Stables provides a well-lit indoor ring (90'x200'), conveniently located close to the barn, as well as an outdoor grass riding arena(130'x250'). The facility includes spacious, well-ventilated, matted stalls; two indoor wash stalls with heat lamps; an outdoor wash stall with hot and cold water; large pastures; and a heated tack room. “I’m excited about the training prospects this new facility will offer my clients,” said Derrick. “I look forward to continuing to cultivate a collaborative and drama-free atmosphere that fosters quality horsemanship and excellence in riding and training.” Derrick chose the name “Top Flight” in honor of her late father and his professional and military career as a pilot, as well as the connotation of quality and excellence. “I strive to help each of my clients to grow and learn as riders, and maximize their riding potential and their horse’s abilities,” she said. “We hope our work at home, and in the show ring, is truly ‘Top Flight.’” Derrick brings over 15 years of work as a professional to her clients. She studied, trained, and worked for and with some of the nation’s top hunter/jumper trainers, including Louise Serio and Jim Toon. She has extensive experience working with young horses, as well as horses that have encountered challenges in their training programs. She works with riders to overcome issues that may be interfering with their ability to successfully compete and advance to their potential.
